When Friends Help

“When Friends Help” by Andrea Bogdan  20″ x 24″ x 1.5″ acrylic, oil pastel, and pencil on birch wood.

For most of my adult life I considered myself to be a workaholic with all the very cliche attributes that go with that. I have a friend who, in contrast, dedicated most of her adult life to family and friends, and  recently has been virtually and physically surrounded by these people as she takes on some very big life hurdles. So while I reflect on my workaholic-ness (without regret because I always loved my work and believed in a “cause”), I also have learned much about deeper values of friendship and how when you are stripped down to the bare essentials there are friends who will value you just the way you are.
