El Musico, Card #32
¡Hola! If you've ever played Loteria, the popular Mexican bingo game, then you know this is The Musician. But not any musician, because this is my interpretation of the famous, original Don Clemente card series. I'm sure it's inspired in part by a visitor to my studio (a lot of musicians come in). It's 9 x 12, acrylic on canvas, and available at The Cactus Gallery NOW. And if you've never played Loteria, then here's a little tip on how it's done. Every player gets a card (like a bingo card) with images on it, and there's a host who calls out the card, usually by rhyming a poem. You put a bean on every image that's called out. The winner is the first player that shouts "¡Buena!" or "¡Lotería!" right after completing a tabla or a previous agreed pattern: row, column, diagonal, or a pozo.

Loteria VIII Opens August 6, 2022
¡yupi! Cactus Gallery's Loteria Show opened August 6 and I have three pieces in this show. It's always fun to see how other artists interpret the traditional Mexican loteria cards. This show keeps me on my toes because I usually freestyle all my work and let it go where it may. ¡Qué tengas un lindo día!

Coaster Show 2022 in Las Vegas!
Here are my pandemic-inspired coasters from last year's Gallery 30 South's popular coaster show. I've nicknamed this set "My Bubble is a Cosmic Killjoy" (I'm not much of a bubble person). These have all been sold, but I'll be making a new set for the next show FOR SURE.
Gallery 30 South, the host for this show, has moved away from Pasadena, CA, and over to Las Vegas, Nevada. I have so much love and respect for them, I'm excited to see what's next.
