Yes, I'll paint your shoes for $75, but I get to paint what I want.
What shoes are best?
I prefer that you provide a light-colored canvas tennis shoe. White is o.k., but not necessary. Here's a short list of suggestions:
Is a leather shoe o.k.?
Yes. It's better if you provide a shoe you've worn for a while. The reason is because the shoes already have creases in them, plus some of the outer coating has already been removed. It's time consuming to remove the outer coating of a leather shoe, so I can spend more time painting your shoe if you send me a canvas or used shoe.
How long does it take?
Ten to fourteen days.
Do I have to pay in advance?
No. You can pay when they are done (on-line or in person).
What if I'm not in Los Angeles? Can the shoes be shipped to me?
No problem! We ship! Send an email to me at Andrea@AndreaBogdan.com and include the following information:
Ship the shoes to:
453 Spring Street, M6
Los Angeles, CA 90013
When the shoes are finished, I will send you a secure credit/debit card payment link to your email. Your shoes will ship within three days, and depending on where you are, you'll receive them a week or so later via USPS.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is typically $15, but will cost more if you are outside the continental USA.
How do I drop my shoes off in person?
Please enter through the Last Bookstore entrance on 5th Street, and come upstairs to the mezzanine level. My studio is past Gather, past the Spring Arts Gallery, and down the hall. Look for the sign that says "Bogdan". My studio is open every day except for Tuesday! I'm here noon to 8p, and 2-8p Sunday.
How do I care for my custom-painted shoes?
You can wipe them down with a soft, wet cloth. Mild soap is fine.
These shoes are meant to be worn and enjoyed. They're not meant to last forever, and just like any new shoe they will wear over time. This particular painting style, however, looks just as interesting after wear and tear. So enjoy them!
